UX Designer & No-Code Developer
Wordpress, Figma, Elementor, Mailchimp, Zapier, YoastSEO, Google Analytics
My Maine Bees is a family-focused blog created for Rachel, a local mom who shares her adventures exploring kid-friendly spots around Maine and New Hampshire. The blog is a genuine, down-to-earth guide for parents looking for accessible, fun, and realistic outings — with honest tips on parking, what to bring, and how to keep things manageable with young kids.
Rachel’s personal story and love for the ocean inspired the blog’s warm, authentic tone. She balances life as a nurse and mother of three energetic boys while carving out time for outdoor family adventures, making this blog a heartfelt resource for local families seeking inspiration and connection.
I led the UX design and development, building the site on WordPress using Elementor for flexible layout control and responsive design. My goal was to create a simple, welcoming experience that lets readers quickly find relevant content and easily subscribe for updates.
To support Rachel’s growing community, I integrated Mailchimp and built custom email automation workflows with Zapier to capture leads seamlessly across the site. For search optimization, I implemented YoastSEO, and connected Google Analytics to provide ongoing insights into site traffic and engagement.
Because Rachel wasn’t highly technical, I prioritized building an intuitive backend editorial experience — empowering her to manage posts and updates independently without feeling overwhelmed.
